Our Take
Scopus AI answers a real problem — it puts a plain-language summary layer over one of the two major citation indexes, so you get orientation without abandoning peer-reviewed grounding. The catch is that it summarizes a deliberately narrowed slice of Scopus rather than the whole index, and it does not reliably return the same answer twice, which makes it unsuitable as the search of record for a systematic review. Use it to map an unfamiliar topic and find the right people, then run your documented search in Scopus proper.
Power Tips
- Check the recency window on your summary — it may silently exclude older foundational work.
- Never use it as the documented search for a PRISMA review; reproducibility is not guaranteed between runs.
- The expert-finder view is the underused feature — it’s the fastest route to reviewers and collaborators in a new area.
