Our Take
SocArXiv gives the social sciences a dedicated open preprint venue, extending the preprint model into fields — sociology, political science, and neighbors — that traditionally circulated working papers more slowly than economics did on SSRN. For early social-science signal outside economics it’s a valuable complement. Unreviewed-content caveats apply. Use it to catch early social-science work beyond the SSRN/RePEc economics orbit; verify against the published version.
Power Tips
- Use SocArXiv for early sociology and political-science work that SSRN’s economics-heavy corpus won’t surface (Issue 4)
- combine with SSRN and OSF Preprints for full social-science preprint coverage.
