Our Take
Redalyc is the other great Ibero-American open-access platform alongside SciELO, and a flagship of the diamond open-access model where neither authors nor readers pay — its coverage is especially deep in the social sciences and humanities, fields the commercial databases handle unevenly. For research on or from the region, and for Spanish- and Portuguese-language scholarship, it is a core free resource with a mission to keep regional knowledge visible and non-commercial. Its scope is regional and its journals are underrepresented in Anglophone citation metrics. Use it alongside SciELO for the fullest open view of Ibero-American research.
