Our Take
FactSet is one of the big three analyst workstations alongside Bloomberg and LSEG — its strength is clean, well-integrated fundamentals, estimates, and analytics with excellent Excel connectivity, which is why buy-side and corporate-finance teams lean on it for modeling. Versus Bloomberg it’s often preferred for equity research and portfolio analytics and disliked less for cost, though it’s still enterprise-priced. For a research analyst the underrated feature is data lineage: FactSet documents its sources, so you can trace a number back. Use it for financial modeling and analytics; go to filings for the primary record.
