Our Take
Nested Knowledge’s distinctive idea is that the tagging structure you build while screening is itself the synthesis — instead of screening into a spreadsheet and analysing separately, the hierarchy you impose becomes the interactive evidence map you publish. That pays off on large, messy clinical questions and on living reviews that need periodic refreshing. It’s a heavier commitment than Rayyan or ASReview and the automated search import, while convenient, still needs a documented and reproducible strategy behind it if the review is going to survive peer review.
Power Tips
- Design the tag hierarchy before screening starts — restructuring it mid-review is painful.
- Use the API import for convenience but record the exact search strings separately for your PRISMA diagram.
- Its living-review refresh is the strongest reason to pick it over one-shot tools like Covidence.
