Our Take
EarthArXiv is the geoscience community’s own preprint server — grassroots, volunteer-run, and the place earth- and planetary-science findings increasingly appear before journal publication. For a field with strong data-sharing norms it fits naturally alongside data repositories. The usual preprint caveats hold. Use it to track early geoscience work and to post your own; pair it with a data repository (Zenodo, Dryad) for the underlying datasets and verify before citing.
Power Tips
- Add EarthArXiv to geoscience scanning for early findings, pairing each preprint with its dataset in Zenodo or Dryad
- tier confidence and confirm against the peer-reviewed version before relying on a result (Issue 4).
