Our Take
Figshare is a widely used general repository, notable for how many universities and publishers run their repositories on its platform — so a lot of institutional and supplementary research data flows through it. Like Zenodo it’s flexible and DOI-minting; like Zenodo it’s largely uncurated, so reuse means checking provenance. Use it to share and find datasets and supplementary materials, especially where an institution or publisher has standardized on it; verify metadata before reuse.
