Our Take
Zenodo is the general-purpose home for research outputs that don’t fit a specialized repository — datasets, code, slides, anything — with a citable DOI and GitHub integration that made it a default for software and data archiving, backed by CERN’s long-term infrastructure. Its openness and flexibility are the point; the trade-off is that it’s uncurated, so quality and metadata vary. Use it to deposit and cite data, software, and other outputs, and to find them; for curated data, Dryad applies more review.
